Objective:

iDry Restorations, a division of Restoration Experts Limited, was contracted by NZ Commercial Property Maintenance Limited to perform wooden floor sanding on approximately 516 square meters of the Auckland Council Building. The scope of work included the hallway and common areas, excluding the stairs, with a focus on delivering a smooth and polished finish.

iDry Restorations followed a three-step sanding process:

  1. 40-grit Sanding: The initial coarse sanding to remove the top layer of the wooden floor and any old finish.
  2. 80-grit Sanding: A mid-level sanding to smooth out the surface further.
  3. 120-grit Sanding: Final sanding to achieve a refined and smooth finish.

The team ensured proper site preparation, including removing any potential contaminants, and closely collaborated with NZ Commercial Property Maintenance Limited to schedule inspections.

Outcome:

The floor sanding job was successfully completed, meeting the high standards expected by the client. Final inspections were conducted in collaboration with Dan Kim, the quantity surveyor from NZ Commercial Property Maintenance Limited. The project resulted in a smooth and polished wooden floor that rejuvenated the space.
